A place where light, architecture, rhythm, and raw energy collide in a way that leaves an imprint on you forever. For me, that imprint began in the 1970s, long before I ever dreamed of creating artwear or designing clothing. It started with a child staring up at a skyline that felt larger than life.
Growing up in New York during that era meant being surrounded by contrasts—grit and glamour, chaos and creativity, noise and quiet inspiration found in unlikely spaces. The skyline was my constant companion. Whether standing on a Brooklyn rooftop or gazing from the Bowery, those silhouettes of steel and glass felt alive, pulsing with the heartbeat of the city.
The towers, bridges, fire escapes, neon, shadows, and storms over Manhattan were more than landmarks; they were works of art. Even then, I felt the urge to capture them—not with a camera, but with imagination.
A Child's View that became an Artist's Foundation
In the 70s, New York was bold, raw, and unapologetically expressive. It taught me to see art everywhere—in the graffiti creeping up brick walls, in the yellow glow of streetlights, in the thunderous rhythm of elevated trains, and of course, in the dramatic outline of the skyline.
Those years shaped the way I view color, line, and movement. They shaped the way I interpret emotion and energy. And they shaped the foundation of what would eventually become S.Loria NYC Artwear—a brand built on storytelling, expression, and the iconic pulse of the city.
From Canvas to Clothing
As an artist, my first instinct was always to paint what I felt, not just what I saw. And the skyline always brought out something powerful: mood, motion, and magic.
Translating that energy to clothing felt natural. Clothing is wearable canvas. It moves. It expresses. It travels with you the way the skyline traveled with me throughout my childhood. My goal became clear:
To create pieces that capture the emotion of New York—
the stormy nights, glowing lights, busy streets, quiet corners, and endless inspiration.

Why the Skyline Still Matters Today
The modern NYC skyline has changed, evolved, and grown taller, but its essence remains. It represents resilience, identity, ambition, and eternal creativity.
For me, it remains the symbol that sparked my lifelong passion.
