The Artist & Vision

My art began naturally in childhood. Growing up in New York in the 1970s meant living within a contrast of grit, elegance, and unpredictability—accumulating these elements and developing a creative eye for New York City’s unspoken inspirational pull. From the people and streets to the rooftops, I absorbed the shifting beauty and atmospheric changes across the skyline. All of this became reference points, deepening my appreciation for the city’s pulse, shaping my connection to its intensity, and creating a desire to express it through art.

New York showed me that art wasn’t confined to galleries. It lived in the streets, architecture, smell, sound, and the character of its people.

My approach is interpretive rather than literal—capturing what a place feels like rather than simply how it looks, while intertwining the two.

From Canvas to Form

Art on canvas was the starting point. Over time, the work moved onto clothing—from apparel to neckties—where the city’s energy could become wearable and move with the body. The constant movement of New York made the transition feel natural and continually pushed the idea forward.

Wearable art became another medium—art that moves through real environments, carries the composition on the body, and brings the work into everyday life.
